MLee had been founded by Martha Lee Adams, Speech-Language Pathologist. She evolved into this occupation from her role due to the fact mom of a daughter who suffered a closed head injury in 1986. This experience inspired her to come back to your university in which she could discover and comprehend the entire world of data recovery and the means of treatments. These included speech-language, work-related, real therapies plus most of the medical interventions that entailed.
Through her formal education and post graduate work she discovered the PROMPT Institute, a non-profit organization focused on investigating and promoting holistic, powerful, multi-sensory evaluation and interventions for people with speech manufacturing problems. Martha thinks in high stimulation inside the timing associated with son or daughter with an individualized and holistic approach.

As time passed, Martha discovered that it was time and energy to pass MLee forward to the woman determined number of years colleague Marcus Neal. Martha and Marcus have worked side by side for over a decade. They share the same passion and philosophy for work and treatment.

Treatment is based upon a plan of care established by the treating physical therapist with the input of the child and family. Therapeutic activities will be uniquely designed to address the child’s functional goals. Our therapists are very skilled in incorporating play into activities in order for children to learn new skills doing what they do best. . .PLAY! They won’t know how hard they are working, but the improvements will be seen!
MLee is also a licensed provider of Interactive Metronome (IM). IM is a tool that helps address a core deficit in timing with customized exercises while engaging the brain to do a physical activity with auditory cues. When applicable, IM is utilized in physical therapy at MLee to improve, focus, self-control, coordination and gait/balance.Home exercise programs will be provided and good compliance typically leads to the best results.Physical therapy services are provided by Allison Hall, MPT, DPT and M. Haley Cherry, PT, DPT.
Our Specialized Therapy Programs are truly how MLee continually adds value to your child’s ongoing and breakthrough progresses through such unique programs as Interactive Symbolic Play, Sensory Feeding Disorders, Specific Communication Disorder Programs, and to teach Parents how to better communicate with their child through our Parent Interactive Communication Program.
Our philosophy that experiences through guided play allows for increasing understanding & use of language drives our enthusiasm for creating & writing these dynamic programs specific to your child. Embedded into each program are your child’s holistic needs, as explained in the PROMPT Conceptual Framework, to develop into the best communicator he/she can be. Martha has been collaborating & writing these program for more than 16 years and has seen beautiful progress from the participants. The work of Stanley Greenspan, Barry Prizant and Amy Wetherby are incorporated into the programs.
Product and Services
Speech Language Therapy involves the assessment and diagnosis of a variety of communication and swallowing disorders as a result of a variety of reasons (e.g developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, or stroke). Speech therapy requires a extensive and thorough evaluation of communication skills and an individualized treatment plan.
Each Speech-Language Pathologist at MLee is nationally board certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology. The clinicians at MLee adhere to the philosophy of the PROMPT Institute where all speech clients are assessed and treated holistically, using our clients’ strengths and weaknesses in the physical, cognitive, and social domains to assess communication functioning and develop individualized treatment plans.
Each clinician at MLee goes through a very intense amount of training via a series of workshops and a lengthy certification process in order to become Certified PROMPT therapists. PROMPT therapy can be use with a wide variety of of patients with communication disorders. PROMPT therapy is appropriate for the following types of communication disorders.
Occupational Therapy is the use of everyday activities to develop, recover, or maintain the ability participate in the things that people do everyday. For children this includes, playing, success in school, and self-care skills. Occupational therapy addresses these areas of childrens’ lives by improving their fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, sensory processing skills, visual motor skills, upper body strength, body tone, endurance and self-care skills. Occupational Therapy requires a comprehensive evaluation/assessment in order to develop a individualized treatment plan for each or our clients.
The Occupational Therapists at MLee are nationally board certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association and fully licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.
